Finca El Diviso is the result of passion, innovation, and the bold vision of a new generation of coffee producers. In 2019, brothers Nestor and Adrian Lasso took over their family farm and shifted from traditional methods to a focus on specialty coffee and experimental processing. Partnering with fellow young producer Jhoan Vergara of Finca Las Flores, they formed El Diviso, uniting their farms near Pitalito in Huila, Colombia, with the shared goal of elevating quality.
This coffee is the expression of a deep connection to land, tradition, and a lifelong passion for coffee. Grown in NormandÃa, near Pitalito in southern Huila, it comes from a producer who was raised among coffee trees, immersed in the rhythms of rural life and the values of hard work and community.
Though the reality of coffee farming in Colombia is often challenging and underpaid, a love for the craft led this young producer to embrace specialty coffee as both an economic opportunity and a personal calling. Through education at SENA, Latin America's leading coffee school and hands-on experience in processing, cupping, and quality control, they have transformed their farm into a space of continuous learning and innovation.
In partnership with CATA Export, and inspired by the direct relationships formed with roasters across Europe, this coffee represents a new generation of Colombian producers, driven not by profit alone, but by passion, knowledge, and a desire to elevate the perception of Colombian coffee both at home and abroad.
